This year Motown celebrates its 50th anniversary and THE FOUR TOPS is among a few key groups who helped define the Motown Sound. THE FOUR TOPS was the main male vocal group for the songwriting and production team of Holland-Dozier-Holland who crafted the group a stream of hit singles, including two Billboard Hot 100 number-one hits "I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch)" and "Reach Out I'll Be There".  Other hits include their 1964 Top 20 single “Baby I Need Your Loving,” the 1965 Top 10 hit “It’s The Same Old Song,” “Ain’t No Woman (Like The One I’ve Got)” and the Motown staple “Standing In The Shadows Of Love” which reached #6 on the Billboard Hot 100. THE FOUR TOPS recently received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2009 Grammy Awards.

The Grammy-winning vocal group THE TEMPTATIONS achieved fame as one of the most successful acts to record for Motown Records. The group's repertoire has included, at various times during its five-decade career, R&B, doo-wop, funk, disco, soul, and adult contemporary music. Over the course of their career, THE TEMPTATIONS have released four Billboard Hot 100 number-one singles and 14 Billboard R&B number-one singles including “My Girl,” “Ain’t Too Proud To Beg,” “I Can’t Get Next To You” and “Just My Imagination (running Away With Me).” Other hits include 1964’s “The Way You Do The Things You Do,” the 1966 hit “Get Ready” and 1975’s “Happy People.” Their material has earned them three Grammy Awards, while two more awards were given to the songwriters and producers who crafted their 1972 hit "Papa Was a Rollin' Stone.“
